Founded in 1825 by brothers, Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill, the Talisker distillery was initially a flop. In 1880 its fortunes changed when Roderick Kemp and Alexander Allen purchased the distillery and drove it into a success, eventually to be purchased by Diageo. Fast forward to 1998 when Talisker was promoted to a founding member of the Classic Malts Selection of Diageo, upping the offerings to 57 orth, Storm, Dark Storm, and Port Ruighe. It is now one of Diageo's most important single malt brands. Proven to be a huge success within Diageo's 'Classic Malts' series, Talisker 10 Year Old is an intense coastal spicy whisky with a distinctive, peaty character. A truly elemental malt.
